Robert Delpire set himself up as a publisher in 1952, during this time he produced books.
"The greatest Graphic Designer in Europe." He was able to mix a sense of intellectual engagement with the shape of how society develops. He had an aesthetic flair in both advertising and publishing.
Citroen
Some of Robert Delpire's first work was for Citroen. The work still remains some of his most successful to date. The work below is from the 1960's.
The adverts above created for Citroen are very colourful and fun. Certainly in 2 of the images he shows how much you can get inside a reasonably small car. A good selling point. Also another piece of Robert Delpire's work I found was the Theatre Poster below, the photo used was that of Andre Martin.CacherelHe then ran his company Delpire Advico. Here he produced big filmed advert campaigns for Cacherel, which sells perfume and clothes.
A piece I found designed by Robert Delpire with photographic help from Sarah Moon was for the Summer collection of 1971.
This piece was designed in 1981, this time the photographer was Art Kane.
