Feminism is an idea bought about in the 19th and early 29th Centuries. It suggests that women should have political, social, sexual, intellectual and economic rights equal to men.
Various movements and theories are involved to conclude this equality towards women.
The first wave of Feminism was the 19th and early 20th centuries, the second was in the 1960's and 1970's and third was the 1990's to the present day.
The suffragettes has much to do with the rights women have today as they campaigned for womans rights, the right to vote.
To this day I feel that women do not have completely the same rights as men, you hear it in the news on a weekly basis that men get paid more than women and generally men are chosen for a job over women. I have found this out for myself as of late. I applied for a job in a mens clothes store and the interview went really well considering i'm usually rubbish at them. It turns out the job I had experience in and was more than qualified to do was given to a young lad who looks like he's still at school and unlikely to have much experience, is this due to anti-feminism?
