I found it quite hard to believe when I first heard that she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I started watching her series on Living - Just Jade. I had previously seen a few episodes of her previous series, ie. Jade's P.A and Jade's Salon, but this was only occassionally when everyone else wasn't hoggin the tv. I really got into Just Jade around November time when I had my Sky+ box installed and instantly fell in love with the program. It showed Jade in some of her worst lights, i.e her downest moment, the loss of her hair. I think she was extremely influencial and brave to have continued to keep her illness in the public domain and to allow people to see that its not only normal civillians that can develop cancer its celebs too.
I feel that Jade really put a brave face on after all the troubles in her life, I think its just such a shame someone so influencial and someone so real and so far away from the life of 'celebrity' had to go through any of the ordeals she had in her short life.
I have recently been reading her book Fighting to the End. I have learnt so much about her life and think she was just such an influential person and that people would and could still learn so much from her. She has left a huge legacy behind her with the huge surge of numbers of women having smear tests and also allowing the go ahead for the cervical cancer jab.
Even though Jade was dying she never let it get her down and she lived her life to the fullest and joked about everything including her hen night when her hens wore bald caps. She has ensured a good education for her children, which is something she never had as a child, the most education she had was how to roll a joint or discover who was doing and using what.
She may have had her Jade moments but she was still actually quite smart and had a good business head on her.
